2022 Sonoma Coast Cab Franc
13.3% Alc. - 7th Leaf Vines at Waterhorse Ridge. The thing about young vines is they get better every year, but also they are VERY sensitive to drought. I don't think it's a coincidence that healthy rainfall coincided with a HUGE increase in quality for the 2022 Cab Franc. Treat this as both a brand new wine, and a glimpse of where the future is heading. It is pure, uncut Cab Franc - sublimely aromatic, lean and graceful on the palate, gently tannic on the finish. Until I have more data on how it ages I will keep this in the "drink young" category, but there is a real chance this wine will improve over the next 5 years.
black raspberry, red plum skin, peppercorn, lavender, lean and graceful palate, dark chocolate tannins, and a surprisingly long finish
