2022 Jurassic Park Chenin Blanc

Vineyards: From the famous X2 block at Jurassic Park, these own-rooted vines were planted in 1978 on sandy limestone soils in the coastal Santa Ynez Valley.

Winemaking: The grapes went directly to press and the juice was fermented with native yeast in neutral 500L oak puncheons, underwent full ML fermentation and was aged for 11 months on lees. The wine was bottled unfined & unfiltered with minimal SO2.

Notes: From own-rooted vines planted in 1978, the 2022 Chenin is easily the most elegant we have released since the 2019 vintage. Healthy rain and a moderate growing season gave these old vines some pep in their step, and the wine shows off this verve with an excellence balance of orchard fruits, texture, bright acidity and gentle minerality. As with the other 2022'ss the combination of charm and elegance really stands out.
