2021 Watson Ranch Chardonnay

In the hills south of Napa, above an old quarry, Watson Ranch is coastal and cool with a strong mineral component that makes it one of the most distinctive sites in California. If it's possible for a wine to be elegant, racy, tropical & powerful at the same time - this is it. A burst of citrus and sea spray form a powerful nose of delicate aromatics, and bracing acidity belies a sense of umami and depth. Truly exceptional is the finish that balances bright fruit and minerality. This has serious aging potential and may go down as one for the ages.
